Complexity science may also help.

Value of honest narratives with qualitative evaluations

Observation trials with interviews of patients as in Karis Chaplain study

Finding out beliefs and behaviours of patients.

Symptom studies

Outcome studies – eg a GP running one surgery a week along these principles – what results and difficulties over a period of a year.

Define good outcomes to be the yardstick against which we can measure results – ie define what morbidity is in a whole person system.
